VistAI is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated by VistAI (accessible at vistai.org). We help you save, search, and revisit AI-generated insights from platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

What VistAI stores
VistAI stores only the following data, and only on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage API:
- AI-generated text snippets that you explicitly choose to save
- Labels and source platform metadata (e.g. "ChatGPT", "Claude") that you assign
- Your Pro/Free subscription status (stored locally to unlock features)
We do not collect your name, email address, browsing history, or any personally identifiable information through the extension itself.
Single purpose use
All data stored by VistAI is used exclusively to provide the core feature: saving and displaying your AI insights within the extension's side panel. Data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to this function.
We do not sell or share your data
VistAI does not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your data to any third party. Your saved insights never leave your device.
The only exception is if you choose to upgrade to VistAI Pro — in that case, payment is processed securely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not handle or store your payment information directly.
Why we request certain permissions
- storage — To save your insights locally on your device
- sidePanel — To display your saved insights in a persistent side panel
- activeTab — To capture selected text only when you trigger a save
- scripting — To extract AI-generated content from the active tab on your request
- contextMenus — To offer a right-click "Save to VistAI" option
- tabs — To identify which AI platform you're on for correct labelling
All permissions are used solely to fulfil VistAI's core purpose. No passive data collection occurs.
Control over your data
You have full control over your data at all times:
- Delete individual saved insights from within the extension
- Use "Clear All Saves" to remove all locally stored data instantly
- Uninstalling VistAI removes all associated local data from your browser
Policy updates
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of VistAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
